Jeff Evans is a producer, author, and leadership communications expert known for his work in political media, narrative storytelling, and executive leadership.

Jeff helps leaders and organizations communicate with clarity, build trust, and move people to action. With more than three decades of experience across campaigns, nonprofits, and corporate clients, Jeff’s work sits at the intersection of story, strategy, and execution — turning complex issues into messages that connect and content that performs.

Jeff’s path into media started early. At 13, he floor-directed a live television program — an early crash course in pressure, timing, and precision. In high school, he co-founded an alternative campus newspaper and leaned into storytelling through writing and photography. That blend of creative instinct and operational discipline continued through college at the University of Michigan, along with professional training at the Hollywood Film Institute.

A lifelong interest in public affairs drew Jeff into political communications, where he served as a Regional Field Director for Jack Kemp’s presidential campaign across multiple early-primary states. He later moved to California to work as a Policy Consultant for the California State Assembly Republican Caucus and became deeply involved in campaign leadership—most notably managing David Knowles’ successful State Assembly races in 1988 and 1990, including a landmark upset win.

After serving as Chief of Staff for Assemblyman Knowles, Jeff founded his own communications firm in 1993. He expanded beyond political work by reviving the Red Barn Video Company, producing promotional films, commercial spots, and documentaries for a wide range of organizations. He also spent five years working with Christ for all Nations, shooting on location in countries such as Ethiopia, India, and Indonesia — experiences that sharpened his ability to tell human stories with cultural sensitivity and real-world urgency.

Jeff’s work has been recognized with numerous industry honors, including 23 Pollie Awards, multiple Telly Awards, Communicator Awards, AVA Awards, Hermes Creative Awards, and others. Today, through JC Evans, Inc., he leads integrated digital and media initiatives—spanning design, video, web development, and digital advertising—helping clients reach precisely targeted audiences with creative that is both strategic and measurable.

Jeff is also the author of Storytelling for Leadership & Influence, a book that reframes storytelling as more than anecdotes — positioning it as the discipline leaders use to frame meaning, shape the moment, and rebuild when the story breaks. His work as an author and speaker extends the same core mission that drives his agency: helping leaders communicate in ways that earn trust, align teams, and create momentum.
